Dirty Little Thing

What? Sorry I can’t hear all that well. My ears are ringing because I just experience nothing but rock n f**kin roll from Velvet Revolver. Wow they really blew the door wide open and rocked the stage. I have never seen a band run around on a stage and rock so hard. Duff on the bass was all over the place, Scott singing into the megaphone and then Slash just like the Slash we know with the top hat, cigarette and guitar straight up playing riffs that define him. Reminded me of the November Rain video with Slash in front of the church in the desert. Anyways this was so worth the trip. They played all the Contraband songs and then rocked out with 3 GnR songs and 1 STP song. Final set included an amazing version of Mr. Brownstone and Slither live! I used to do a little, but a little wouldn’t do so a little go more and more! This is how I know feel about these guys!

Set List was this:

• Sucker Train Blues
• Do it for the Kids
• Headspace
• Superhuman
• Crackerman
• Illegal I
• Fall to Pieces
• Dirty Little Thing
• Big Machine
• It's So Easy
• Sex Type Thing
• Set Me Free
• You Got No Right
• Used to Love Her
• Mr. Brownstone
• Slither

So this amazing concert was preluded by a great time again at home to see all the family and the farm for Easter. Got to see baby again and all his new tricks. It started off great on Thursday saying goodbye to my buddy who went to India for 7 weeks. Not my idea of a vacation but then hey I run for fun so I can’t comment. I also pulled out a 18 km run. Today is Day 1 with training for the next two months. Need to step it up. I guarantee that more Velvet Revolver will be in my mp3 player.

I also learned that a simple phone call can elevate you day. Well that is when it is from the special someone.

Shamrock Shuffler

Well I we went for a run on Sunday before the snow…happy to report without real preparation, windy conditions and snow/ice track I ran 10km in 56 minutes and 34 seconds. Very good for a fun run. :Last year I prepared and ran my heart out and came in at 55 minutes. I think a 45 minute 10 km is possible. The weather has thrown a big wrench in training but snow always wins the battle. It put a wrench in my Saturday plans but luckily that resulted in staying in all day and watching movies with my sweet. A great Saturday to relax if I do say.

Well in other big news I’m going back to Newfoundland in June. A return to the east coast and I was able to use my points to get a cheap flight. Everything kinda worked out. The money I had to buy the trip went to my water heater but the water heater earned me more points to go on my trip. Funny how that works.

Tomorrow I have a big presentation in the City for the Red Cross. It will be fun but it is wierded how much you prepare and then out of no where all this knowledge is triggered. I wish I always had the combination to my memory.

Hey how come you can be under the weather but you can’t be over the weather?

Cheers!

Ahh the luck of the Irish. Today my last name turns into O'smachenko. Well I get to remember a few months ago sitting in Dublin, drinking a pint a Guiness and loving every minute of it. Then I was actually at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Can't even imagine what it is like in Ireland today. Must admit, very jealous of my friends over there right now. Anyways very excited about tonite and hope everyone has a safe and happy St. Patrick's Day. Look out Bobbies

Good onya hey, and cheers!

An open letter to sick people.

Spring is on it’s way and with this mean the flu, cold and running noses. I would like to urge everyone who is coughing and sneezing and feeling ill. To STAY HOME. Please do not bring your viruses, flu bugs, sniffles and air born pathogens to the work environment. I will fill you in on little secret...you have sick days use them. This way you get paid to be sick instead of work. I know this may seem confusing or misleading but please don’t infect the office with whatever your child has caught from school, you husband/wife has contacted at work or whatever symptom has infected you from public library books. Please STAY HOME. Not everyone is always happy at work to begin with and being sick and unhappy at work does not produce a productive work environment. Just think how happy you would be with Oprah, Dr. Phil, Ellen or Judge Judy instead. This way you can be grumpy with them and not agitate the already bumpy waters at work. I eat right, get enough sleep, workout and exercise. My immune system is strong but it can be suseptatble to a flu bug. Please don’t jeopardize my chance at running my next ½ marathon as a PB. Please. I know you can’t help it that you are sick but remember you can call in sick and STAY HOME.

In summary I would like to thank all those individuals in the office the did call in sick. Is is very much appreciated.

Love Song on the Radio

Questions from listening to the Radio

Am I just another brink in the wall?
Have I found what I’m looking for?
What is “More than a feeling”?
Should I let really live and let die?
What is the address of this Broken Dreams Boulevard?
How many stops till I find a place that is happening?
Is so far so good good enough?
Why can’t it be Nashville every night?
Are you really gonna be my girl?

I also noticed that pretty much all Three Doors Down songs are really depressing and that at the end of the day everyone needs more Coldplay.

Spinning Wings

Well back to training and I love it. Found out there is a fun run "The Shamrock Shuffle" on March 20. Just a 10km race. Ha I love the way I can say "just a 10 km race." Tommorow I get to test my self for my body fat percentage.

So rumours flying around city hall that were very serious and they turned out to be true. Has nothing to do with work...but to due with people at work. The signs are everywere. When a women starts working out and dressing different something is up. Something was up.

Well I can summarize the last two weeks with early mornings, early bedtimes and me being very happy. As always happy, but very happy due to the actions of someone else. Never a dull moment around here.

No left turn on a red light

Ahhh sweet sixteen. I went to my friend’s daughters sixteenth birthday yesterday. Boy did I feel old. I was sitting with the “adults” in the kitchen while all the “kids” were in the other room. It was fun and got me thinking of my sixteenth birthday. I remember getting my first car and the thrill of driving it. The party was alright. Memories of ping pong in the basement with poster of 90210 on the wall seem to surface. Biggest disappointment was me failing my driver’s license the first time because of me making a left hand turn through a red light. Of course no one was coming but still small problem after that. This was pretty much the biggest highlight of the weekend as I took it very easy and rested. Something to be said about a relaxing weekend. This combined with taking care of my girl who was a bit under the weather. Why is it that people look so cute when they are not feeling well?

Saturday was very frustrating. The most beautiful day outside and I was stuck inside and horrendous health fair in the mall. I am sick of promoting ‘in motion” and “active living.” I just want to do it. I have a passion for it and not for promoting it. This compounded with my friends running and I was unable too. My knee is fine and I will be back in training today.

I would like to ask everyone with a negative attitude to stop it! I hung out with some negative people who have the “I hate life and it is everyone else’s fault” attitude. It is very simple….Life is for Living, sure you might not be in the fast lane but still but put your seatbelt on and sing along with the radio. If you can’t do that then just sulk quietly.

Somewhere Only We Know

Good Morning!

Well I’m up earlier this morning than usual due to me providing hot water to my sweet due to a little plumbing problem at her place, and by problem I mean water main break with a HUGE hole in the yard.

Ok four day weekend update, well after a great run went to play pool Saturday and that was a blast. A fun work tournament where we finished fourth but most importantly we beat the team we needed too (right TC!). My sweet partner kept getting better and better as the night continued. Only problem was I managed to tweak my knee in the excitement of the game due to extremely tight muscles. This evening concluded to a trip downtown, dancing, taco’s in a bag and overall a 9.5 out of 10.

So Sunday was sleep day which included the best nap ever. After a swim, we sat down to watch the curling game….that ended in two hour nap that was the best nap ever. Something about waking up two hours later holding someone with crease marks on your face and you can’t feel you arm, that can’t be explained. Anyways this followed by Chinese food created a super playday Sunday!

I have been resting my body this week as I overtrained last week and my body just said slow down. I will be good to go for my run in April and have nothing to worry about anymore. Just keep up the good work I guess. That is my excuse anyways to watch a little more TV. Someone has me hooked on a few TV shows. Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives….good TV…no but still entertaining.

I’m still on the road of life but I just took an exit.
