Sun?

1:58:42

Yes I did break 2:00 hours but instead of the snow and wind it was the rain and wind. I felt really good during the race until the last km. I knew a bridge clime was at the end but I didn't think they were going to make us run up and down at the end with twists and turns. The worst finish ever. I had no idea were it was and all of a sudden you turned at a building and there it was. Not even a 100m finish sprint. Saskatoon really needs to improve on the festival of the race. 20km of great running and 1km of confusion.

As for me, I happy and still focused on running my race. Worst part is that when you have wet shoe and socks, blisters are a reality.

I have another medal to hand on the wall and that brings my totals to 5 10k's, 4 1/2's and 2 fulls.

21.1 v4

Tomorrow 7:00am 1/2 marathon in Saskatoon. I have no idea what to expect with this race. I would love 1:50 but anything under two hours would do me just fine. Very glad there is no hill at the end this year. My rest week has been productive and I do feel really relaxed.

See you at the finish line and it looks like I will be rain instead of snow.

My thoughts

Well we went to see the DaVinci Code. I thought it was great and did alright to the book's story but once again it did not hold a candle to the book. Sure the story was the big shocker to some but for me it was all the science, math, history and the real scavenger hunt that made the book so great. Some of the best part of the book never made the movie such as Madonna on the Rocks and what I thought was interesting and the first time I ever read about it was phi and the golden ratio. http://goldennumber.net/

This book made me think and was interesting not because of the Mary Magdalen story but the way someone else has a view of history and how that came about. I also read Holy Blood Holy Grail which is a very factual book without a story and enjoyed again the history and view points.

I mean really how can we know what happened back the? It was the winners of war that wrote the history. Not the ones that fought it.

Game 1

Yes it is that time again. Ball season has arrived. It was one week later for us but still feels so good the actually play the game instead of watching with a cast. Back to short for me and I moved up to lead off this year.

So let me set up the first pitch. Me against the same pitcher that broke my wrist last year. Saw a few pitches, fouled one off and then smoked a line drive right over his head and he had to duck out of the way. Karma...I think so.

I had a great night, scored two runs and made the last out with a ball in the hole. It is good to be back in the green.

12 years

Well this May long weekend was not spent at the lake but it was spent in the sun. Went to a high school graduation. Mine was 12 years ago and it seems longer than that. Wow, how out of touch of life were we in Grade 12. When the most serious thing in your life was the OC and figuring out were to go friday nights, stress has a different meaning. Still it was nice to remember and reflect.

The following days I lost a fight with a barbwire fence and my arms can prove it. Sometimes having experience in a few things is great but I never thought my experience in fencing would come so handy.

Oh by the way I'm much more into the Real OC...Lauguna Beach then OC anyways!

Nine

Yes that is right nine pounds have disappeared. I mean it has been a while since I weighted myself but still I did not expect to lose 9 pounds. I really don't know where is came from or were it left. I still look the same and feel the same. Weird. I guess my metabolism is in full force.

I was such a techno geek today. I went for a run and had my heartrate monitor, my forerunner, my mp3 player and my cell phone. I remember the day when all it took was running shoes.

Zoom

Well it seems like the last two weeks have just passed me by. Not sure what happened but spring has exploded. I know this because of all the dandelions in the yard. The familiar smells of summer have returned....some good & some bad. Good - BBQ and the smell of fresh cut grass. Bad - Mosquito Repellant and my clothes after a long run.

I did by myself a new toy.... a Garmin Forerunner which is a GPS to track my runs. So now I can be a total running geek and tell you how far I went, my pace, elevation, grade and even race against a virtual partner. E and I actually have the best set up. I run and she rides her bike with me. The perfect pace for both of us and we can talk for a hour and a half in great weather.

Stay tuned to a mailbox near you. An invitation is forthcoming.
