No Tears

My uncle passed away last weekend. I was able to go to the prayers but never made it to the funeral due to my current medical troubles. He died by a massive heart attack. He died too soon but what a great life he lived. If I died instantly, with little pain beside the one I love on a nice summer day, it would be terrible but still that is the best scenario for that event. I can’t be too sad because he lived everyday like I should and for that but he will be missed. Make you appreciate those with the cup half full perspective. In all the things I have read or experienced, religion never feels so right when dealing with death and the idea of heaven. A feeling of peace that science just cannot grant.

So in other news I have a new cast a few less stitches. Quite the incision but all is healing. Must admit, weird people in the hospitals, makes sense why some people are always sick. My arm was so weak. I had trouble moving it. Best news is I have a nice green cast to riderize.

This may be the best birthday weekend yet! My sweet in town, ball banquet and a party of 28,00 at the rider game on Saturday. How sweet it is!

Something in the air

Life is fragile. That is all I can say, things happen and we never will understand. However the only thing we can control is how we react to events out of our control. It is up to us to keep swimming when the water keeps rising. Negativity in situations is a way to deal with it but we choose to be that way. You always respect the ones that continue on when they could have so easily folded up the tent. I guess sometimes being stubborn is a very good quality.

All I know is that I am very fortunate and lucky that all I have is a broken arm. My lungs, heart and brain are all fine. This is not the case for two people close to me and I never thought “peace be with you” could mean so much.

Oh the danger of day dreaming when life is right in front of you. Just like this weekend. Quiet, relaxing and spent with those who matter. Why is it that clarity comes in a terrible tasting pill?

turtle

well life is now at a turtles pace. All the big ticket fast paced adventures and challenges are over. Summer programs done, Canada Games done, training is over as i'm on the DL and the ball season came to an end. We are back to back champs. Game 5 yesterday and watching it was hard. Victory in an extra inning with a 5-0 comeback with a game that had everything including a scurmish at home plate with the dugouts emptying. Great win but still hard to sit and watch. So badly want to go for a run but that is a ways away. Until then a turtle I will be.

Blue eyes, it is great to have you back but the cost was a premium.

My sweet, Natasha B took the words right out of my mouth...

These words are my own
From my heart flown
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
There's no other way
To better say I love you, I love you...

one arm bandit

Well not really a bandit but life with a broken arm is interesting. I watched the entire last season of friends on sunday. Yup all 13 episodes. Try to put your watch on with only one arm....not gonna happen. Try to tie a shoelace....not gonna happen. Try to open a jar of pickles.....not gonna happen. Break your arm and you sure find out who cares for you and also who doesn't.

So I have a new role for the next 6 weeks. One that I am not familar with....cheerleader. Cheer at my ball games and cheer at QCM 5 for all my friends. Sure hope I have something to cheer about with the riders.
