Let the Sun Shine

Well since there is not enough to celebrate this time of the year...today is the Winter Solstice. That means today is the shortest day of the year BUT the days start getting longer! Lets all go celebrate and visit the tanning salon! Seriously I'm looking forward to the sunshine!

Environment?

Just some points to ponder since I have been lacking in the blogging department. The real reason for lack of posts is that everything is going really good. Job is good, family is good and training is going good. I do not recommend eating sushi and then exercising. A very bad combination.

I do however have a bit of a rant with all the attention given to the environment lately. Now I believe that this is an important issue and I do what I can to help out. I don’t put up Christmas lights to save power and I don’t send cards to people along with other environmentally approach. The environment is important but how has it become the most important issue in Canada? What happened to health care and education? I mean the local school board is 5.4 million dollars in the hole and the people of Moose Jaw are being taxed to pay for the new Hospital addition. I’m not sure how the environment affects my bottom line at the end of the year to make it number 1. How can people put this topic above health care when we hear about waiting list in Canada? Does it still need help? I have yet to meet anyone in Saskatchewan that places the environment over education and health care. Heck the roads get more press here. Is this just a hot topic for the press to cover and to use as ammo for the current government? I’m not sure. Am I out of touch....I don’t think so as this is my view. I will admit that when I think of Canada I think of a vast open land with trees, water and birds everywhere. To bad all those people in South Ontario are stuck in pollution. A state of mind? More like a state of space.

A New Beginning

Well after months of speculation and countless research, the "O's" have spent some of the wedding money on a gift the keeps giving and makes us more than a couple...it makes us a band. Yes we both bought new guitars last week and started the learning curve. My sweet has a electric and I have an acoustic electric.

Now we both have no idea how to play the guitar and lesson will start, however thanks to the internet, we are learning how to play and half way through a Johnny Cash song. A Christmas concert may be in the works but that all depends on how fast the blisters on our fingers develop.

So far we love it and it has become my second addiction next to running.

I will keep you posted
