Cooled off

Well I had to wait a while before I posted because I was really mad about the weekend. It was a great weekend with a wonderful time with my sweet, fabulous supper with friends and an hour run but then the football game and my mood went south. South Pole south. I was extremely disappointed with the play of the Riders so much that I lost hope in the 4th quarter and knew we were going to loose. Another year, another cross over and no home playoff game.

Well I took my own advice of water and exercise and I’m feeling a lot better. Still not in Marathon Shape like I was a year ago when in Dublin but soon enough.

Oh yeah what will you do with your share of 40 million dollars Lotto 6/49? Of course I will share with you.

100 years

Want to hear something scary? Well recently I leared that the human life expectancy for children under 5 years will decreased. Yes that means the next generation will not live as long as me. Why you ask. Well science and technology has developed health care system that will eliminate many infections, viruses and diseases that ultimately kill people. Unfortunately this same science and technology has take most of the physical activity out of our life with machines and created sedentary entertainment. Yes instead of playing hockey or football outside kids are waiting of the next version on EA Sports for their Playstation.

I find this frightening actually. Their risk of heart disease and diabetes is higher than mine not because of genetics but because of lifestyle. Everyone says we have an obesity epidemic…wait we don’t. We have a problem of inactivity and poor nutrition. We have become lazier today about walking anywhere or thinking society is lurking so we need to drive our children everywhere instead of letting them ride their bike. Nothing wrong with that but the lifestyle is changing and for the first time in history our expected life span is decreasing. Ok try this, you are hungry and a kid. You have a few bucks in your pocket. No longer are their neighborhood grocery stores at the corner. It has been replaced by a Tim Horton’s and a 7 Eleven. So instead of buying something nutritious they buy junk food which has become cheap and easily accessible. Can’t blame them, I fall into this category too because it is a societal change.

Your health is no longer something a Doctor can control or prescribe. I was educated a long ago that the best treatment of any condition is exercise and water. I mean if you exercise more and drink more water it has a drastic effects on the regular person. Just think how much better you would feel.

I guess me living to 100 might happen but this is not the case for my new nephew anymore. I find this very interesting and though I might share.

Hey I told you the post would be better once I was able to type.

Oh yeah want to experience real pain then go to spin class and start sweating with the smell of fresh cookies being baked. No one can fight that urge.

Day 1 again

Well it is official, I'm back in training. The five pounds of non-productive tissue is not helping either but result will be noticed. Last year at this time I was in marathon shape....ummmm not quite yet. I am going for a run tomorrow and tonite was great at spin. It's not that bad but the biggest benifit is the blood flow to my arm increasing my range of motion.

In something completely unrelated I learned that there is a market for cloned cattle. I was quite suprised because it is not that hard to get a cow to have a calf these days. I'm sure these cloned calves do not cost less than 800 dollars but I guess it is a genetic thing. This however is not true when you start selling the offspring for meat and milk. Weird. I will take grain fed beef from my farm anyday.

Catch me if you can

Sweet water

Ahhh the spa was excellent and my typing is improving. As for the range of motion it will take time but having a shower was so rewarding since my cast is off. It is really weird that my hand will not flex up and down but it will rotate and twist a bit. I'll still a work in progress like everyone else in life, haha.

We are going to a Health expo today so I'm not sure what that will bring but it will be educational for sure. I just had my ears waxed. That was interesting, so much wax in my ears and sinuses so no excused for me being a bad listener anymore.

On a sad not natural gas is going up 41%. This is true politics in the making. Reminse of the Trudeau era of governement. We say we are going to raise it 41% then only raise it 20% and everyone thinks they are doing a great job. Hello it still went up 20%. We will see what happens but I bet it is something like that.

Not anticipating to much for the weekend but looking forward to spin on monday and maybe a run. That would be cool. I think a new pair of running pants are in order.

The only thing in life you can control is how you react to it!

two handed again

Yeah! I got my cast off. 10 long weeks. I'm Typing with two hands right now but it is not really fast. Longer and better posts are possible again. So they removed my cast and I'm left with a withery hand with dead skin. However we are going to the Spa tonite. I can actually have a shower again. Wrist movement is limited and painful but coming along nicely. Not as bad as I first thought. Exercise and physio will help that.

So everything begins again. It is funny because I already feel better but I can't wait to run, go to spin and do a push-up (I checked with the Doctor, it is ok).

So yeah, I back to being myself again and can't wait to set the metal detector's off in future travels. Playtime in full effect.

Game on

Well hockey is back. I would be more excited about this but I'm in utter glee with the play of the Riders. Still Saturday night will back to normal with HNIC. My winter project (once my arm is healed) is to finish the Gretzky wing in the basement. I have a real itch to buy a Coyotes hat today but it will be green and white till November.
