No Joy in Riderville but Scottland is in full force

Well the big game of the year and I was all excited about watching it and I had to turn it off in the 3 quarter. We were unpacking and getting organized and my heart just could not take it anymore. The Riders were hammered by the Stamps. This is a great wake up call early in the season and much better that happening Labour Day like it did last year. I still wore my Rider hat with pride on Sunday and did not worry about it at all during my 25km run.

My sweet joined me for the last 5 km of my run and it was really neat. It helped me out alot as I was not really prepared like I should of been. Beets and BBQ ribs is not the best prerun meal!

I have also connected with more than ever with a Bryan Adam's song with the lyrics "When you find yourself lying helpless in her arms." Happened to me last night!

Zoom!

What is the worst thing in the word….getting yelled at for someone else’s mistake and having to take the responsibility? Happens here and there and it is surprising how with good listening skills you can basically ward off all evil spirits.

I am getting into the grove of things with training. It was great to see my two running partners this week in a surprise visit for my first marathon in Dublin. Went out to the lake to visit them and all I wanted to do was stay in the shade and relax. However the next few weeks are going to be very, very busy. Ok a summary, football games, in a wedding, training, Canada Summer Games and ball playoffs. To much recreation is never a bad thing….well maybe if you have a garden.

I am super excited about this weekend. Me and my sweet are going to organize our place and finish moving and unpack the boxes. It is going slowly but the result is great. Also The Riders play Calgary and this is the first time we face big bank hank. Just so everyone knows, my phone is busy from 8:00 – 11:00 Saturday night.

My roots are getting deeper and the blossoms brighter!

Right Here, Right Now

If you can't find the truth where you are, where else do you think you
will find it?

Picking up a Bridesmaid

Well this last weekend was spent in Saskatoon as my sweet was a bridesmaid. Now this worked out well as I was able to see some family but this was really the first wedding I have gone to basically solo. I have been a date for a wedding but this was different I mean my date was in the wedding. I spend most of the time with her but still I had to wait at least two songs before I could dance with her.

In other news it is HOT here! O my it was hot on the weekend and my tan is non existent. Something’s wrong with that. I think more training runs are needed.

SO right now my house is kinda of disaster. Yes my sweet is moving her stuff in and nothing terrible, just stuff to be sorted, thrown out and put away by the both of us. It is very good for me because space has always been abundant at my place so I never really threw anything out. Now is a perfect chance.

And finally any depressing thoughts about the Rider loss on Saturday was peanuts compared to the Air Show accident in Moose Jaw. They get to play next week....the pilots do not.

Floating on a Tidal Wave

Ok back to Blogging. I was so busy living life that I have had little time to write it down. Lots of things have been happening some good and some bad. So life is like a tidal wave going up and down. After I returned from Newfoundland, reality set in again and we all must face what that brings with it. Well work is finally relaxed. I have managed to hire 19 staff for the summer and train all their happy faces. Anyone taking any HR classes…all I can say is pay attention! Managed to watch a great Rider Game to start off the new season. This very much excites me. Still playing ball twice a week and still training for what is to be my third marathon. I took most of June off due to recovering from the last one, holidays and attacking my yard. This resulted in me being a little slower in the July 1 10km Moose Jawg. Did it in 50:15 which is slower than my 48:30 time in early may but that was what I expected. A minute and half lost over a month of no training is actually good news to me. Hey we “play” sports not “work” sports.

Now the great news, my sweet is moving in with me. We made this decision together but we were kinda directed into this after we made it as her current residence will no longer be available. On our vacation it was so nice to have someone else with me. Basically all my other vacations have been solo. The gleam in the eyes is brighter than ever.

Ok the bad news…my sweet’s dad is battling cancer. There was also a timeline on how much longer he will be around. So she has been at her farm for the last two weeks. For him and everyone in the family the trendy little yellow bracelet that everyone is wearing really means something for us to “Livestrong.”

Yeah I know I have a lot of thoughts on life but here is another on that I was thinking about after it was brought to my attention that I am a happy person. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment that you have and remember that time waits for no one.
There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. We may get off on an exit sometime but there is always an on ramp. Don’t wait to be happy….start today.
