Making Time to Play

Yesterday I received the best email ever.  Simple, elegant and made me very happy. 
 
My ball game was cancelled so i decided to go for a run.  It was cloudy but not raining.  So 30 minutes in started raining and i like running in the rain.  Problem I don't like running when it is thundering and lightning above my head.  Let's just say my two hour run turned into a 45 minutes run.
 
Last night was a perfect night of just getting my act together in preperation of the Summer Games.  I leave in a week.  Weyburn is going to be fun.  Got all my shopping done and cleaned my place.  Amazing what I can do with time. 
 
So in the next week Summer Games, 10 Km hill run and playoff start.  Yikes!

So what happened to this week?  Well more ball games and Tuesday we were still hot from the weekend.  Last night...not so much.  Plain and simple we were flat.  Lost 3-0 on 3 unearned runs and only 4 hits.  Everyone has ball hangover I think.  One more league game and our record is awesome.  Will finish 17-2-1.  Playoff bound.

Went for a run in the hills Wednesday and that was great.  Total different muscle but it was fun.  Went for an hour and 20 minutes.  So I'm in for the 10km race.   No 49 minutes here.  Lucky to break an hour.

So in other news I talked to my craven girl last night.  How much fun is she.  All about having a good time were ever it maybe.  I like those kinda people...must be because they are like me. 

The August long weekend never looked so good!

 

What happens in Fleming stays in Fleming.  Haha just kidding.  Let me fill you in.
 
How much fun was this weekend?  Score a 10 on the play factor.  Went up friday and did not play until 10:30 Saturday morning.  Friday at the Country Squire Inn in Moosimin was a gong show.  First of all they had buckets of beer.  5 beer for 11 bucks.  Hello slopitch promotion.  So no one ordered another drink just another bucket.  That ended up with of course one guy named buckethead (and no it's not me), a congo line throught the bar, me doing the best matchbox twenty sing song and of course a dance off with me retaining the title.  (they don't call me wiggles for nothing).
 
So ya a late night for sure and it showed in our first game as we lost to Rhien 5-4 after committing 4 errors.  That sure woke us up.  What a great diamond in Fleming.  Kinda like a field of dreams thing with this diamond with dugouts, light and a great set up in a town of 35 people.  Next game we crushed Whitewood 14-0 and i also took one out of the park.  Too bad it was straight away centre field which is 255 feet.  So that lead to the beer gardens and lots of fun.  I did talk to this one girl who i met friday who was a wealth of knowledge.  To bad she has 18 holes in her ears.  Yikes! 
 
So our victory meant a 9:00 am game.  Back to the hotel and then to a BBQ at a teammates sister.  Great and it so hit the spot.  Back to the hotel again and we went for a night cap right.  Wrong that lead to a late night and all kinds of conversation with all kinds of people.   Who new a red bikini could be such a conversation piece? 
 
So sunday was a tough game against Atwater.  We pulled it off 4-1 and i hit clean-up.  Yup me.  Now our regular clean-up hitter went to a family thing so everyone moved up. That was a switch as i'm no power hitter but a great contact hitter.  It paid off as I had a huge double to score our runs and we cruised after that.  That meant we played Rhien again and no way were we losing.  A big 5-2 victory.  That meant the final against us and the host Fleming.  Both teams are called the Jets and we both have black top.  What a feeling to switch to our second white uniform.  A class act all the way.  Well 4 hours of ball in 30 degrees kinda wore us out.  (well maybe a late night too had something to do with it.  So we lost 5-2 in the final and Fleming hired gun pitcher was effective enough.  We never quit but they got key hits when the need more then us.  Best finish every by the Mortlach Jets.  2nd place
 
This weekend is exactly why sports are the best thing for you.  So much fun, competition and begin part of a team.

Well my performance lately has been great.  I'm 8 for 12 and in a great position for the weekend.  Confidence is a funny thing.  It is a feeling that really puts you above any worries that you may have.  Nothing seems to worry you and very little thinking is going on.  Off to Fleming Saskatchewan for a great time win or lose
 
Tonite we had a little party at my place with some summer staff.  Lots of fun.  Well behaved fun too so nothing to worry about.
 
So I'm not gonna lie to you....I'm just happy and in a good mood.
 
 

Tonite was one of my best ball games ever.  4 for 4 at the plate, scored 4 out of 8 runs and had a great game at short.  Funny thing is you can't explain being in the zone.  it is just something to experience.  hopefully it last this weekend at provincials.
 
in other good news a cutie is moving to regina and that means future good times.

What a fabulous weekend.  everything I wanted to accomplish was. 
 
Friday was so much fun.  rider's did lose but our section was great.  I mean our section is like a bar.  everyone mingle around and no one sits in there seats.  I met new people and spent a quarter with super cutie which helped since we did loose the game.  D played great but we missed 4 field goals.  no mvp chants from our section.  that was the game right there.
 
the rest of the weekend played out just great.  super hot and I did some serious yard work.  things are looking great again and soon the garden will produce.  went to see spiderman 2 and it was good but still not as good as the first with kinda happy ending.  spiderman 3 next year for sure.
 
today I cooked the best bbq chicken every.  how you ask?  well I used a little help from a can of beer to add flavour and create a great spit.  I impressed my self today with my cooking abilities.  I also impressed myself with my run today.  1 hour and 55 minutes later I'm feeling great.  Went at 8:00 pm and ran as it cooled off.  sweat pouring off me but I felt really good.
 
this was a great week. Saw friends, had fun and like I said this weekend has sugar on it.
 
ahhh summer days!

I said this before and I will say it again.  I am not a dancer, I am not a singer, I am just an entertainer.  Hah!  I did an air band today at work just to set the stage and put all my employees in place.  There was no argument after my mean mj - billie jean dance, none. 
 
Last night was intense here.  Huge storm with quarter size hail and they were ringing of the house.  Power was out but there is nothing like a huge storm to make you realize that what ever you do, you are never 100% in control, never.  After a huge rain storm with an inch of rain in 20 minutes what do you do?  well I went for a run and enjoyed all 54 minutes of it.
 
Tonite's ball game was a classic pitching match and ended up 2-2.  A great game for the crowd but I wanted to win.  I feeling better at the plate and after a long delay my confidence is growing.

My life is full of stress and play. Nothing better to balance out life. Sometimes at work i feel like the conductor of the crazy train. thank goodness for recreation. Last night my colour on the radio was very good. Getting a rythmn and working well with my play by play partner. Then tonite, rain again but atlas, wings with some friends.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. BUT don't forget, someone is looking at your grass to.

So I've decided that life is a garden. My garden in the backyard to be exact. It takes time to make it grow. Problem is I can't control everything like the rain and the sun. Such is life. I can work on the problems but cannot control them. Then there is the weeds. The entire garden is covered in weeds. I need to do some serious work and look at the whole and get frustrated. I need to look at the individual rows and start small. Every problem can be solved by simply starting. Don't Get to frustrated by the entire project. Just think of life as a row in the garden. Once you get the problem solved or the row weeded, move on. Thing happen at there own pace and we must not get caught up in things happening right now. Just think what the reward it. My garden also teaches me a virtue of life. That being patience. Anything important in life is worth waiting for. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy the blooms.

Wow....the football game and friday night was just what i needed, a whole tonne of fun. Our section was buzzing. It was amazing. The game was great and i had some very attractive company. I managed to get four touques for my new found friends and some very nice pictures for memories. Before, during and after the game in Riderville was simply amazing.

That game was the reason we have season tickets and why drinking triples, seeing double and being single is a great combination.

Here's to the end of June and the start of summer.

The best way to improve your appearance is very simple and everyone can do it. All you have to do is smile.

So Moose Jawg 10km race today. Scooter was feeling great. How good well my 52 minute goal was destroyed to a 49 minutes and 25 second race. SO, i basically knocked off 5 minutes and 8 seconds from the last 10km in May. Not bad and very impressed with myself.

Felt great for most of the race with a little intercostal fatigue at about 6 km but my last km was great. Here is how it broke down:
