4:13:10
Well I finished my second marathon in 4:13:10. 20 minutes faster than last time and 7 minutes ahead of my goal. Once my body is back to normal everything will be all good. A great day to race and I felt really good until the last hill at 40 km. It was a long 800m hill that kinda did me in. What a great race.

42.2 km V2
Well I leave tomorrow for Saskatoon and my second marathon. Anything under 4:33 is grand by my stand point. Looks like it will be cool and cloudy...the perfect running conditions. Anyways here is my why list again:
Top Ten Reasons to Run A Marathon:
1. A marathon isn't a race, it's 24,000 races.
2. There's no logical reason on earth to run a marathon. Cool, huh?
3. Self-Confidence. Available in a handy 26.2 mile dose.
4. The road to salvation is exactly 26.2 miles long.
5. The Marathon. How an average runner becomes more than average.
6. Marathoning. Or how to single handedly remove the word can't from your
vocabulary.
7. Want to find out who you really are? Try a marathon.
8. Another marathon. Another chance to be your own hero.
9. Trophies rust. Self-esteem doesn't.
10. Marathoning. The triumph of desire over reason.

Jets Roar Back
Last nights game was freezing and we were down 9-3 in the bottom of the seventh. I lead off with a triple and watched two players line out. We then proceeded to score 7 runs with two out to win 10-9. We had help with two errors but stil what a day at the park.

Check
Ok instead of the usually camping in the rain and snow for May Long Weekend here is my checklist
Build a new flower bed – check
Plant my garden – check
Watch Star War Episode 1 & 2 – check
Get a hair cut – check
Run 2 hours in the rain - check
Go to my sweet’s farm – check
Run the Robson calves – check
Try prairie oysters – check
Yup that is my list. I must admit I quite enjoyed the prairie oysters. For this who don’t know what that is, well I will let you google that. This week brings taper. No running and little physical stress to prepare for my 26.2 mile Marathon this weekend. After Saturday’s run I think I’m ready….No correction I am ready.
The body is weak, the mind is strong. The body says stop but the mind says go on!

Rain....check
Well the long weekend is among us and we all know what that means. Plans made and it either snows or rains. This year it chose to rain. So we went for a 20 km run. Last run before the big race. Know at about 13 km it started to pour. This actually was a blessing. It was so cool. If you have every ran in the rain you know what I am talking about. Everything gets cooled off in a good way. Did the first 5 km laps at a 32 minutes pace and then burnt off a 26 minute last five km. So hope I get that feeling again next weekend. It was amazing!
In other news I have a new flower bed and due to the rain it is not finished. Maybe monday. I also had my second ball game which we won 12-4 but I had a terrible game with terrible luck. It seemed everyball was just out of my reach or I lost it in the night sky.
Hope everyone has a great May Loooooooooooong!

Take me out to the ball game
Well last night was something I always look forward too, Game one of my fastball season. A late game and of course it was raining off and on all day. The ball game went ahead and everything was fine. My first at bat was just that, my first at bat with the bases loaded and after a long at bat, no rbi for me. However, after this my second at bat was a situation to drive a run in and it is funny because I was going to drive that run in no matter what. So what happened...a single and one of our only two hits in the night. We were up 3-1 in the top of the 5th and it started raining....so we played until the game was official and called it a night.
The athletic aspect and the game is great and something I have really missed. I am in great shape so that helped. This combined with the social aspect of the team really is what the benefits of sport is all about. Get off your couch and join a team today. Your head and heart will thank you.
Finally my girl is so amazing. She had a ball game earlier and then braved the rain and watched my game. If see keeps this up I need to buy her an umbrella!
well that's the ball game

Brothers and Sisters get ready
I just experienced my Union meeting were a job evaluation was thrown out the window. 4 years of work and the first time it came to the union it was gone. Unanimously at the meeting as well. Some people who had money to gain due to the program still could not support it. It was very interesting and intense. Did the right thing happen? That is for everyone to decide but when you are asked questions and have no real answers or rational other than we think it is fair, something was up.
I think in life no one can get up and say something is fair and equable. It all stems from what color the lens is from the glasses you are looking from. You can see whatever you want after a period of time with something and the beauty is someone else comes along with a simple statement and change everything.
Once again, the hardest thing for a fish to understand is that it lives in water. I saw a true example of that.

A little faster
Well this past weekend is over and for the first time I actually have time to blog. I am getting really sick of meetings and very happy that will come to a grinding hault. This weekend after getting back from Yorkton my family came to visit. This was very nice and a full house for sure. Saturday was my 10km run. I guess I have been a runner for one full year now. Seems much longer. My goal was 48 minutes and I ran 48:21. 21 seconds I would like to see disappear but still it is a PB. Last year at this time I was at 55 minutes. I can live with that kind of improvement but I think there is still room for improvement. Well at least 21 seconds. It was great to have my sweet and my family there at the finish. Next big test is the full and I have the pre race jitters as always.
So after the race I was able to babysit my nephew for 2 hours. Got to feed him and take care of him. Only one problem but I was able to rememdy that. Baby 101 I guess and right now I'm in no rush to have one...I will save all my rushing for the pavement

Were good things happen
So I just spend two days in Yorkton. Have not been there since 2000 for the Summer Games and in the 5 years I've missed not much has changed. The one change in the works is the wonderful new recreation centre but the night life is still the same. Started out at Pockets, had a very good steak, went to the Casino were I won $30.00 playing quarters and enjoyed the band. Off to Taps and then to Holly's were I got to watch a "Fear Factor" contest and a guy eat a pizza with goats cheese, crickets and worms in a pigs blood. First guy was successful, second guy was successful but he did manage to projectile vomit all over the stage. I was very entertaining I must say. So I have a great time again in Yorkton with all my colleges from the Province talking and participating in recreation.
So this weekend is another big one. Last weekend of nothing wasn't exactly that but this weekend is packed. I have my family coming to visit tonite. A 10 km race tomorrow morning, babysitting and then I get to watch my sweet playball. Sound be great. I will be happy with a time under 48 minutes for tomorrow. I did this race last year in 55 minutes. My how times have changed.
